Acquisitions Analyst

The Acquisitions Analyst will be involved throughout the life cycle of the real estate investment process, from sourcing potential acquisitions to closing, and assisting with the transition to the asset management team to ensure the successful execution of the business plan.  This is a unique opportunity with considerable growth potential for someone with a strong interest in the retail investment sector.  The successful candidate must have a high attention to detail and a passion for real estate.

Primary Responsibilities

Specifically, the responsibilities of the acquisitions analyst will include, but not limited to: 

  • Monitor, maintain, and review market transactions and internal acquisition pipeline
  • Assist in the pursuit of opportunistic off market and listed retail properties
  • Analyze historic income and expenses and develop income and expense projections
  • Perform market research (key demographics, economic forecasts, rent and sales comps, broker reports, etc.) to identify potential opportunities and/or risks, and to validate underwriting assumptions
  • Prepare the business plan(s) to evaluate investment alternatives and exit strategies
  • Develop (and ensuring the accuracy of) the valuation, underwriting models / pro-formas
  • Play an active role in the due diligence process
  • Prepare Investment Committee presentation and participate in formal approval process.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, presentation and planning skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills, and the ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work on multiple deals simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the aptitude to develop further proficiency in complex financial modeling
  • Passion for Real Estate and strong work ethic
  • Bachelor's degree with high academic achievement

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience.
